Uterus The uterus is a hollow, pear-shaped organ located in a woman's lower abdomen, between the bladder and the rectum, that sheds its lining each month during menstruation and in which a fertilized egg (ovum) becomes implanted and the fetus develops.

It is the rectum's job to receive stool from the colon, to let the person know that there is stool to be evacuated, and to hold the stool until evacuation happens.
Menstruation In women, the periodic (monthly) bloody discharge from the uterus and vagina approximately two weeks after ovulation.
Fetus The stage of human development from 10 weeks' gestation until birth.
