Tracheostomy
Tracheostomy A surgical incision in the trachea (the windpipe) through which a rigid tube is inserted to allow air to enter.

Trachea The trachea is a tube which extends from the larynx to the esophagus. It is connected to the trachea at about the area where the larynx is located.
