    The muscle wall of the heart.

Myocardial Biopsy (Cardiac biopsy)
An invasive procedure that involves using a bioptome (a small catheter with a grasping device on the end) to obtain a small piece of heart muscle tissue that is sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Myocardial infarction
Or heart attack. Occurs when one of more regions of the heart muscle experience a severe or prolonged decrease in oxygen supply caused by a blocked blood flow to the heart muscle.

Myocardial Infarction
Also called a heart attack; results from permanent damage to an area of the heart muscle. This happens when the blood supply to the area is interrupted because of narrowed or blocked blood vessels.

Myocardial infarction (Heart attack)
A sudden obstruction of blood flow through a coronary artery that results in the death of heart tissue. The immediate cause of a myocardial infarction is usually a thrombus that forms near the site of ruptured plaque.

Myocardial ischemia
Insufficient blood flow to part of the heart.

Myocarditis
Inflammation of the heart muscle.

Myoclonus
Jerking, involuntary movements of the arms and legs. May occur normally during sleep.

Myocrisin
Intramuscular gold preparation (Sodium aurothiomalate).

Mucous colitis
A disorder in which the nerves that control the muscles in the GI tract are too active causing it to become sensitive to food, stool, gas, and stress. Causes abdominal pain, bloating, and constipation or diarrhea. Also called spastic colon or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Murmur
A blowing or rasping sound heard while listening to the heart that may or may not indicate problems within the heart or circulatory system.

Relating to or involving the muscles and the skeleton.

Myocardial infarction

A specific X-ray study that uses an injection of a dye or contrast material into the spinal canal to allow careful evaluation of the spinal canal and nerve roots.

Male factor infertility
Condition in which a male patient is infertile for such reasons as very low sperm count, sperm that cannot swim properly, sperm that are unable to penetrate the egg, or blocked sperm ducts.

Methylation
A biochemical process involving the addition of chemical tags called methyl groups (-CH3) to DNA. Methylation can be a signal for a gene or a section of a chromosome to turn off gene expression and become inactive or "silent".
