    Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. (See 'Anti-RNP').


Biological tissue is a group of cells that perform a similar function.The study of tissues is known as histology, or, in connection with disease, histopathology.The classical tools for studying the tissues are the wax block, the tissue stain, and the optical microscope, though developments in electron microscopy, immunofluorescence, and frozen sections have all added to the sum of knowledge in the last couple of decades.

Illness or sickness often characterized by typical patient problems (symptoms) and physical findings (signs). Disruption sequence: The events that occur when a fetus that is developing normally is subjected to a destructive agent such as the rubella (German measles) virus.



Medical malpractice lawsuit
A lawsuit by which the plaintiff sues a medical doctor or other medical professional/s claiming that he or she has been a victim of medical negligence or medical malpractice.

Devices used by the medical profession, including materials, machines and utensiles.

The specific set of words, terms and concept used by the medical profession.

Medical doctor
A person who has obtained a medical doctor degree and is therefore allowed to practice this profession.

McMurray Sign
A painful click which occurs when the knee is passively rotated internally as it is extended. Suggests a meniscus tear.


Anatomical term meaning on the inside (as opposed to lateral). Not to be confused with median (nerve) that is compressed in carpal tunnel syndrome.

Medial epicondylitis
Golfer's elbow. (An enthesitis).

Meralgia paraesthetica
Painful paraesthesiae resulting from compression of the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh.

A drug which is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory disorders. It is a cytotoxic/immunosuppressive drug.

Major Histocompatibility Complex. Region of chromosome 6 where HLA antigens are encoded.
