   Electrocardiogram.

Electrocardiogram
ECG or EKG. A test that records the electrical activity of the heart, shows abnormal rhythms (arrhythmias or dysrhythmias), and detects heart muscle damage.

Endotracheal tube
A tube which is inserted in the airway, by ACLS personnel, to provide a secure airway. This is the definitive airway control technique.

Endometrial ablation
Removal of the lining of the womb. Removing the uterine lining decreases menstrual flow or stops it completely. Ablation means removal or excision, usually surgically. The word comes from the Latin ablatum meaning to carry away.

ECG

Ectropion
An outward turning of the eyelid.

EEG
Electroencephalogram.

Effusion
Buildup of fluid in a part of the body, particularly a joint.

EKG
Electrocardiogram.

Electroconvulsive
A type of therapy used to treat severe, unresponsive depression by passing electrical current through the brain.
