Blackhead
Blackhead A non-inflammatory acne lesion that is filled with excess oil and dead skin cells. Blackheads are also called “open comedomes” because the surface of the skin remains open.

Acne
Is a common inflammatory disease of the facial skin seen most frequently between the ages of 10 and 25 years and characterized by blackheads, whiteheads and blemishes composed of papules and pustules. Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands, the glands that produce sebum. Acne usually affects the face, back, and chest. In severe cases it can develop into cysts and nodules that can result in scarring. While its cause is unknown, it is most often associated with hormonal activity within teenagers. In severe cases a person should consult with a dermatologist for a specific acne treatment.

Allergic reactions to PPD include a red rash, contact dermatitis, itching, blisters, open sores, scarring of the skin and other potentially harmful effects. Allergic reactions to PPD may also lead to sensitivity to other products such as hair dye, sun block and some types of black clothing. Also called blue henna.

Blackwell, Elizabeth
1821?1910) The first woman to receive a medical degree from an accredited American college. Blackwell was born in Bristol, England. Her father was a nonconformist, liberal, and abolitionist. In 1832 with her family, she immigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Blackwell decided to become a doctor in 1844 after a family friend dying with cancer said that she would have suffered less if she had been cared for by a female physician. In 1844, Blackwell visited a family friend who was dying of cancer and who told her how much she had suffered from the humiliation of being treated by male doctors.

Bone

It is missing in girls with the 45,X (Turner's) syndrome. The Barr-body test is rapid and inexpensive as compared with actual chromosome counting, and so is used as a method of preliminary X-chromosome screening.

A paraphilia of the sacrificial/expiatory type in which sexuoerotic arousal and facilitation and attainment of orgasm are responsive to, and dependent upon the surprise attack and continued violent assault of a nonconsenting, terrified, and struggling stranger [from Greek, biastes, rape or forced violation + -philia]. Acquiescence on the part of the partner induces a fresh round of threat and violence from the biastophile. Biastophilia may be homosexual as well as heterosexual, but is predominantly the latter, whether the biastophile is male or female. There is no term for the reciprocal paraphilic condition, namely stage-managing one's own brutal rape by a stranger, which probably exists only in attenuated form and rarely gets transmuted from fantasy into actuality.
